Geodata Analyst Intern
🎯 Job responsibilities
As a Geodata Analyst Intern at ERS, you will work closely with our Data team to provide essential support to the Certification team. Your main responsibility will be assisting in resolving technical geodata issues, such as shapefile errors, and helping the Certification team answer geospatial questions. Additionally, you will contribute to the collection, processing, and analysis of spatial data to ensure accuracy and deliver meaningful insights.
- Data Collection, Processing, and Reporting: Collect, organise, and process spatial data, ensuring it is ready for analysis. Compile reports and perform map analysis to provide actionable insights that support project certifications.
- GIS Data Analysis and Visualisation: Use GIS techniques to analyse spatial data, generate clear visualisations (maps, charts) that help explain complex data, and present these in an understandable format for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical Support: Assist the Certification team by resolving geodata issues, troubleshooting technical problems (e.g., errors in shapefiles), and answering geospatial queries.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Data team to ensure high-quality data processing. While you will receive guidance and support, your primary role is to assist the Certification team by solving geospatial challenges that arise during project reviews.
Within a month, you will become familiar with our processes.
Within three months, you will collaborate effectively with the data team to understand expectations and needs, achieving full autonomy in managing certification requests.
Within six months you will demonstrate your GIS expertise at ERS, transitioning from manual analysis to automated analysis.
